Quiet Season Building

Seeing the San Antonio Spurs back in the NBA Finals was a reminder of first class excellence. As a team with history of building championship teams, the years of losing in between are often forgotten. Those “quiet seasons” are the organization’s important years of development. Sure, they got lucky and received a generational talent, but they would have wasted his talent had they not been disciplined leading up to that moment. Like the Spurs, we may be in a quiet season allowing us to build into credible leaders for our community.

We can learn from the Spurs when it comes to our development into the championing force our community needs. If you feel shame because your quiet season seems late, consider De’Aaron Fox. He was a drafted by a bad organization and thought he never win. You may not have been developed young but, it’s never too late to join winning environments and pick up their habits. If you’ve fallen on hard times and afraid you’ll never get back on top, remember Harrison Barnes. He left a championship dynasty to bounce around the league on bad teams for a decade. These quiet season(s) have developed character and wisdom in you to be a sage for the next generation. Finally if you are or know the young promising talent with their future ahead, learn from Victor Wembanyama. He is by all metrics the next great and he doesn’t let his potential go to his head. Be a sponge for wisdom and regularly glean from seasoned veterans. Quiet seasons are a gift because they allow for failure in controlled environments while no one cares. That freedom allows for undisturbed growth without pressure.

No matter the conditions entering your quiet seasons, you can develop into a champion. Not only is it possible, but we won’t to develop with you so you don’t have to do it alone. Apologies for the previously elitist tone of the past emails. FPP was always meant to be welcoming even with protecting the standards and culture.
